It’s not the current century that is conscious about meditation but it is being followed since the time religion come in limelight or since people came to know about the religion. In our daily lives, we see many old aged people including Men and Women especially Babas, Sages and Saints who are still as fit as a young aged people without going any kind of fitness center and doing hours of work out. How do they manage to carry such a healthy personality? Well, there is only one thing i.e. Yoga and Meditation.

Generally, Meditation is the five principles of Yoga. By following the practice of Meditation, one will manage to attain a vital sense of purpose and strength of will. While doing meditation, you need to focus your mind at only one point or directions and make your mind motionless to make out the 'self. It also helps to make your mind peaceful, foster your concentration power, and aids to discover tranquility and wisdom in you.

Meditation is something brings you to the present and keeps you stay touched with your mandatory duties. It supports to enhance the potential of your mind as well as the body energy. Some meditation forms also works to boost the body strength. The tradition of Yoga is not new of course, even it is centuries old and was also interlinked in the life incidents of the Jain Tirthankaras and religious teachers as well. From that time to till now Yoga meditation is being followed by individuals.

Meditation can also denote to a devotional exercise of contemplation or a meditative discourse of a spiritual or idealistic nature. The dictionary meaning of Meditation means to reflect upon, ponder, or contemplate. The word meditate has come from the Latin word “Meditari” that means to think about or consider. There appear to be different type of meditation and one exhibits different type of benefits. Let’s check out some kinds of Meditations that prove to be beneficial for you.

Meditation Styles for beginners

Mindfulness Meditation : It’s a most known meditation. Mindfulness Meditation is about being aware with all the sounds and noise happening around you. Here in this meditation, you close your eyes and hear everything happening around you and also get aware with the activities but you literally just let your mind be fluid and flow from one thought to the next without focusing at only one particular thing.

For instance, you are stuck in a traffic you will not have to insert earphone to get rid of heavy noise of noise of vehicles and whistles. It helps people to work in noisy environment without getting disturbed with any earsplitting element.

Spiritual Meditation : The respective meditation is good for those who participate in regular prayers as it’s about communicating with god. One needs to be very quiet and calm to concentrate on the meditation. To do this meditation, you need to find a peaceful place so that no noise or sound could interrupt. This type of meditation could help you to relax and could also support you to get rid of different type of anxieties.

Mantra Meditation : As the word suggests, Mantras are the words that are chanted with loud voice during meditation. Although it seems very weird making noise during Meditation session but it's actually the sounds that become the object being focused on. When it comes to Yoga or meditation, Om is the word that is regularly implemented doing Mantra meditation since it delivers a vibration from deep that helps mind to concentrate on that specific sound.

Focused Meditation : if you want to clear your mind with all sorts of stress and anxieties then focus meditation can prove to be idle for you because you can focus on sound, object, Mantra or thoughts while doing the this meditation. The best thing about this meditation is that just focus on any of these object and stay committed to one thought or object. It’s good for those people who are indeed busy in their professional life and their mind is in more than many places at once.

Meditation retreats in India

Tushita Meditation Centre : It’s a centre established for study and practice of Buddhism from the Tibetan Mahayana tradition. It is located in Northern India, among the forested hills above the town of McLeod Ganj. It organizes regular introductory courses on Buddhist philosophy and meditation and intermediate level courses too. It remains open from Monday to Saturday. Sunday is closed.

Shri Ramana Maharishi Ashram - This is the place where the 20th century saint lived and taught methods of meditations to their disciples across the world. Later in 1950 he passed away and attained Nirvana but Ashram continue by his services and works by circulating his teaching and charitable services. Tourists from all over the world visit over here in the ashram and get peace and spiritual elevation.

Sikhara Dhamma, Dharamasala : Sikhara Dhamma, Dharamasala centre will allow you to meditate in the lush green surroundings bedecked with clement air and swaying palm trees. It is believed to be one of the most picturesque meditation centres in India.

Dhamma Giri, Igatpuri : It’s a world’s largest Vipassana meditation center widely known as Dhamma Giri. It is located in Maharashtra at Vipassana Research Institute at Igatpuri. Over 400 "cells" are provided for individual meditation that is very impressive for those who want to undertake the intensive practice in solitude away from other bodies. The 10 days courses are highly demandable here in the centre which held twice in a month, all year around.
